Day 12: Alcameliazar

Chubz may have had an early wake up call, but she happily cooed and minded her own business (aka ate her toes) for an extra hour or two while we got some extra ZZZs. We had a bit of a slow start in the morning (apparently we are not what we were once on our previous travels and are both slowing down big time), but we made it out with time to spare and just got lost in the city until our 12:30 entrance to Alcazar. There were parades, live music everywhere, and the city was buzzing - so between...
Day 11: Fameliaro

On our way to Seville, we made a couple of stops. Starting with the Benagil Caves: We didn’t get out on the boat tour we wanted, but with baby... it didn’t seem like a great idea - so we just hiked the top of them, saw what we could, flew the drone and called it even. Some of us were more impressed with the sights than others. Our second stop was in Faro. What a beautiful town! Something about the vibe... I enjoyed it a lot more than Lagos, and we just got ourselves lost through the cobble stoned streets...
Day 8-10: Amelialvor

This day was also a write off between Chubz still screaming her head off all night and day, and I me with a fever so bad, that my shivering spasmed out my back. I eventually broke out of my fever and decided I was fine (spoiler alert, I wasn't), so we took our little family to the beach. We were the only ones there and it was a super cute hour where I napped. Only I then woke up with a fresh fever and barely made it back to the apartment where I proceeded to shiver uncontrollably for hours. We just...
Day 7: Amelagos

With an early start, we got out to see Lagos' old town. We grabbed some delicious patio breakfast while soaking up the morning sun, and wandered along the coast. After getting a taste of the beaches and caves, we drove out to the nearby lighthouse and after another set of old, steep stairs we were greeted with even more stunning views. After soaking it up, we headed out to our next Airbnb to check in mid afternoon. We ended up in Alvor, a typical beach/resort town in southern Portugal. Thankfully it's on the smaller side and still kind of off the grid compared to its surroundings and the only tourists...
Day 6: Penamelia Palace and the Moorish Castle

In the morning, we got moving at the more or less planned time, drove through some beautifully winding tropical roads and parked at the top near Pena Palace. We stood in line like chumps to buy entrance tickets for 10 minutes before the cashier saw us at one of the cue bends and announced to everyone to let us pass because baby. Score! Upon entering the park, the first sign we see is “Queen Amelia’s Garden”. Right on. We also see a sign that it’s another 800m up a very steep hill so begrudgingly we tread on. But once we...
