Luxembourg was beautiful! We flew the drone a bit over the city from a cliff before heading out and then continued on Eastward.
Pretty much as soon as we hit Germany, we were lost. But we continued to rock out to music and carry on - I even had a video of justin belting out opera! We took a number of wrong turns (we wouldn't constantly keep getting lost if justin ACTUALLY took the turns I tell him to. It's like he's doing it almost on purpose: "oh, go left? Ok. Right it is" !%$&@# but eventually found our way through the countryside and over to the Reine river. We stopped in one of the many towns that sports a ridiculous number of castles and had ourselves some schnitzel and wurstsalat (bratwurst salad, it was really good actually, considering it was practically just shredded bologne, pickles, and red onion served with rye bread). We obviously had to have German beer and it was delicious. We sat by the water with a view of never-ending hillside vineyards and 3 castles just from our seat. I was attacked by a wasp that landed on my lip and started testing every square mm with its stinger - luckily, it never actually full on stung me, but I hurt nevertheless and was numb all over for a while. Didn't think a wasp was how I was gonna go on this trip...
Justin went to launch the drone while I finished my beer and got a full lap of the quaint little town. We then walked down the river front and launched the drone further down and got right up and close to the castle across the river. We looped back to the car, and drove through the town, really small but absolutely gorgeous.
We debated for the next hour whether we should stop in Frankfurt - we were driving right by it, but based on timing, it would put us even further behind than we already were. It was almost 10pm and we were tired and 3 hours away from Prague. It was just not realistic, so sadly, we decided to skip it. Of course, we ended up taking the wrong road (highways are all over the place here, they make no sense! And justin REALLY doesn't listen) multiple times and ended up in Frankfurt. We were running on empty so stopped for gas. We pull in, but the second justin opens his door, the lights go off and everything zeroes out. It's 10:01 according to our clock and guess they're done for the night. We keep driving for another station, get our ridiculously expensive gas (1.49€/L) and mosey on out of town. We drive for about an hour before we decided to call it quits, pull in to a truck stop and set up for the night with a topless trucker smoking on his hood and watching us.
Woke up to all the trucks gone, "bathed", packed up, and were on our way to Prague. We decided to test out the mobile kettle we bought and LOL what a joke. We also don't have a filter so we're chewing the grinds - very Turkish style, apparently.
For the most part, it's been a pretty quiet ride aside from justin spilling his coffee on himself and trying to force me to eat a dry and gross oatmeal bar.
We made it to Czech where turns out it's 1.67/L CAD so RIP, since we'll probably die of starvation at these costs. Granted, that's no $3 in the U.K.
