Day 9: Feels like we’ve met somewhere before. Saw you, my heart just hit the floor. This time I’m following the signs. This moment could flash before your eyes.

Miles:Countries: Belgium -> Luxembourg Stops: Brussels -> Truck stop half an hour outside of Brussels -> Namur -> LuxembourgPlaylists: iPod shuffle (range from Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Dr. Dre, Great Big sea, to friggin Christmas Music) Today's title is an ode to the waffle  Read on. After finishing our gyros, we walked around downtown and, wow, I feel the air was knocked out of my chest. I wasn't too impressed with Brussels up until then - it was dirty and it reeked, sketchy as all hell (we were positive we were coming back to an empty car), and aside from the...

Day 6: So long, and thanks for all the fish

Miles: 15Countries: UKStops: ColchesterPlaylists: N/A Today was the second day in a row without any rain - a rather pleasant surprise - so we rolled out of bed and got cracking. We started by doing a trial run of setting up our tent, then hosed it down to make sure it was nice and waterproof. It turns out that it's much bigger than we thought, but overall it's a solid piece of kit and I'm sure it will serve us well. After getting some caffeine into us, we headed back to the scrapyard with a boot full of alloys to trade for some spare...

Day 5: It's been a hard day's night

Miles: 15Countries: UKStops: ColchesterPlaylists: Summer Party (Spotify)Another beautiful day and not a drop of rain! For the sake of being repetitive, we continued to work away on the car - Justin started out by making a platform for the bed and bought a mattress, while I  continued to spray paint and did my moose and our names on the window (per Justin's request, of course so he can feel somewhat badass and like we're in a real race)... Afterwards we ran more errands and picked up some more essentials, like a car kettle (that's right, coffee and tea forever on the go!),...

Day 4: Mustang Sally, you better slow that Mustang down

Miles:Countries: UKStops: ColchesterPlaylists: Vocal Trance Hits, Classic rock 60s, 70s, and 80s, Classic Rock Greatest Hits (all Spotify) What a beautiful day! The sun was shining and we actually had sweat coming out of places we didn't know it could. That's reassuring before we head off to the desert. Fun fact: how do you remember which dessert/desert has 1 or 2 S's? Dessert always has 2, because you go back for seconds. #randomconversations I also learned a few new words today, but I'm completely blanking at the moment.  Waking up, it was still fairly cloudy, and slightly drizzling so it...

Day 3: Now that it's raining more than ever, know that we have each other. You can stand under my umbrella, Ella Ella Ella Ey Ey

Miles: 15Countries: UKStops: ColchesterPlaylists: cruising blues (Apple Music), Vocal Trance hits (Spotify)The day started off with an angry wake up call and cursing the neighbours for using tools at an ungodly hour - 7am. Turns out it was actually 9:20, which ended up being a good wake up call as we had plenty of work to get to and didn't mean to sleep in #jetlag #cantwinWhile one of us tinkered with the inverter, removed seat belts, and drilled holes to run wires, the other spent countless hours taping off the hood (bonnet) to then spray-paint our tracking map. Guess who...
